We went for a walk through the bog today - Lucas practically ran up this tree. Coram was more hesitant, and it took him several tries, but he made it:

I had a total system crash this week, so had some more time than usual (waiting for programs to reinstall) to do fun domestic things like make muffins. These are gluten free, another mix. This one I find a bit dry, so I tried to make them better by adding chunks of chocolate and then flaking chocolate eon top. They were still dry, but a chocolatey kind of dry:

Steve has not been feeling well lately. He has a tooth that needed a root canal about 2 years ago that finally just shattered. I feel so bad for him:

Our poor old kitties - they weren't well last year and this year is worse. We just try to keep them comfortable in this sunset of their lives. Sampson doesn't look very happy here does he:

It's amazing how other people's birthdays remind me of the passing for time. My baby sister is 16:

Knowing that we have a birthday to go to tomorrow, with a cake I can't eat, I got proactive and made myself one that I *can* eat. Any of you out there who need to eat gluten free - this is THE cake mix - so, so yummy:

So, the living room is reclaimed from Christmas, though we are leaving the little white lights up until the evenings get brighter. It's a cozy little room, pillows everywhere, and this is probably about as clean as it gets:
